In January, magic doesn’t go anywhere. In fact, good things are only on their way to you. The dreaming stage of December is done, and it’s time we pull ourselves together to make it all happen.
This monthly task will help you see the beauty around you and teach you how to turn everyday life into an adventure.
Who said that your everyday commute doesn’t matter?
Grab a tasty drink to go, take the right lane, belt out your favourite song from the 80s and sing like nobody’s listening.
Do you usually eat breakfast at the table? Take your breakfast with you and drive somewhere to enjoy it. Going to the gym in the evenings? Try mornings instead, and so on.
Grab your lunch at a coffee shop downtown and watch the bustling city life unfold and people around you that you would never notice.
Instead of driving straight home from work, stop at a local park for a quick walk to burn calories, clear your thoughts, and be mindful for a little bit.
Do you eat the same stuff all the time? If so, your poor taste buds are probably bored to tears.
Here’s a recipe website to start, or if you don’t feel like cooking, feel free to order out – the goal here is to experiment!
Ask yourself, “If I had a close friend coming into town to visit me and I had 24 hours to make sure they had a heck of a time, where would I take them?”
Make a plan to answer that question, and then do everything yourself.
Self-reflection is the key to self-awareness. It allows you to look neutrally at your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and actions.
It is about questioning what you do and why you do it. Through this practice, you’ll be able to look at yourself with newfound interest and curiosity.
